Videotron Business and X-TELIA join forces to accelerate the digital transformation of Quebec organizations

9/14/2021

Here is the official press release.

Montréal, September 14, 2021 - Through a partnership with Québec-based technology company X-TELIA, Videotron Business is making a strategic choice to offer a broader range of connected object solutions to accelerate the digital transformation of cities, municipalities, government organizations and businesses across Québec.

Digital ambitions by the ton!

For many cities and companies here, the use of various electronic data collection sensors makes it possible to improve the quality of services offered and also to reduce operational costs. Here are a few examples of initiatives that are having a quick and concrete impact on everyone:

-Waste management: improving collection efficiency with fill level sensors and intelligent routing algorithms.

-Water management and quality: increased monitoring of the water distribution network, automatic reading of water meters, rapid detection of leaks, instant monitoring of water levels in rivers, sewers, ponds, etc.

-Intelligent parking: detection of the occupation of spaces on the streets and counting of vehicles in public spaces.

- Vehicle and asset tracking:optimise operations by instantly tracking fire, snow removal and other important assets.

-Environmental management: continuous monitoring of indoor (e.g. CO2 level) and outdoor (e.g. forest fire detection) air quality and measurement of precipitation and wind.

-Noise pollution: continuous monitoring of commercial and residential areas.

Thanks to the partnership between Videotron Business and X-TELIA, everyone can now stand out from the crowd and offer their citizens or customers services that are better adapted to their daily lives.

Proven technology

The connected object solutions developed by X-TELIA offer LoRa™ technology and the LoRaWAN™ communication protocol, which use low frequency bands to project signals over very large distances while minimising energy consumption. Already proven in several countries, this technology offers the reliability and security needed for smart city projects, among others.
